Gaia Sphere & Silver Tube Earrings
A 30mm sphere of hand-turned wood on a sterling silver tube, with a luxury pin and coil closing. The sphere hangs at the jaw, round and warm. The tube above it catches the light. They move when you turn your head: a slow, even swing, the weight distributed so it never pulls.
At this size, these earrings have real presence. The grain of the wood is visible up close. From across the room they read as bold and warm. Lighter on the ear than you expect from something this size.
Designer's Note
‘Wood at this scale needs structure to carry it. The tube is that structure. It’s also what makes this a piece of design rather than just a large earring. I pushed the proportion as far as it could go. That’s the Silverwood version of a classic form. I’ve worn these when out in London and been stopped in the street more than once. That doesn’t happen with quiet jewellery.’
Claire de Bezenac
925 sterling silver, hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. Not plate. Real silver, with the weight and permanence that implies.
The spheres are hand-turned in the UK from solid hardwood, each one finished with carnauba wax which is a natural, vegan-friendly wax that brings out the grain without artifice.
Available in bubinga (deep red-brown, dramatically grained), walnut (dark and cool-toned), or sycamore (pale, close-grained). Because every piece of wood is different, no two Gaia spheres are identical. Colours available vary by piece.
All orders are dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked and Signed or DHL. Free UK delivery on orders over £100. International flat rates are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination. Please allow 2 to 4 working days for in-stock pieces, or 3 to 4 weeks where a piece needs to be made.
International orders may be subject to import duties on arrival. EU customers, we're happy to advise before you order. Write to us.
We offer a 28-day return window on all pieces in their original, unworn condition. Write to us at hello@mysilverwood.co with your order number and we'll take care of it.
Your Silverwood piece is made to be worn for years.

Made by hand. Worth the wait.
Every Silverwood piece passes through the hands of a woodturner, a silversmith, and the Birmingham Assay Office before it reaches you.
We hold small stock of each piece. If yours is available, it ships within 2 to 4 working days. If it needs to be made, you can still place your order and we’ll be in touch to confirm your timeline. Allow 3 to 6 weeks. Made just for you.
The Craft
Every Silverwood piece begins as two separate things: sterling silver and wood. And becomes something neither could be alone. The making is precise and unhurried, carried out by the skilled craftsmen and jewellers I work with here in England. There is nothing accidental in the finished piece.
Frequent Questions
Feel free to contact us if there is anything else you'd like to ask about
Yes. All Silverwood pieces are hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office as required by UK law. The hallmark is your assurance of the metal's quality and authenticity.
Bring your fingers together and tuck your thumb toward your little finger, as if sliding a bangle over your hand. Then measure the widest point. Divide that measurement by 3.14 for the inner diameter needed, and add half a centimetre for comfort. If you're unsure, write to us. We'll help you get it right. For a bracelet, simply measure your wrist.
Pieces in stock are dispatched within 2–4 working days. Made-to-order pieces typically take 3–4 weeks. If you have a deadline, write to us before ordering and we'll tell you exactly where things stand.
For hygiene reasons we're unable to accept returns on earrings unless the piece is faulty. If something isn't right, please write to us within 48 hours of receiving your order and we'll sort it out.
