Iris Concentric Circle and Tube Necklace
Two concentric circles of bubinga, hand cut and polished, mounted on a 3mm sterling silver tube that becomes the pendant drop. The circles sit one inside the other — the same warm wood, the same deep grain, two rings of it.
At 8.2cm wide, this is a piece you see from across the room. It sits at the collarbone and commands the neckline. And yet it weighs only 20 grams. That lightness is what makes it so wearable — the visual presence of the piece far exceeds its physical weight, so you can wear it for a full day without once thinking about it.
A customer described it as “a piece of art to wear.” That's the Iris collection in a phrase.
Designer's Note
“Concentric circles are everywhere in nature — in cross-sections of wood, in water, in growth. I wanted to make jewellery from that idea rather than just inspired by it. The two circles here are cut from the same piece of bubinga, so their grain is related. They belong together.”
— Claire de Bézenac
